The Vichy Government’s anti-Jewish legislation amounts to recognition of the principle that the Germans are the master race and the French are their servants, the newspaper France, organ of Gen. Charles de Gaulle, charged today.
The legislation, emulating the Nuremberg Laws, contradicts Premier Henri Petain’s promise of Oct. 11 that the new regime would not be a servile imitation of foreign governments, the newspaper said. It is a violation of the principles of the French Revolution and the declaration of human rights, which was respected by all succeeding governments except the present one, it was said.
