The West German government is currently discussing the payment of DM 600 million in reparation to wind up restitution to Jews who suffered under the Nazis but who have, for various reasons, not yet been compensated. Government spokesman Klaus Boelling disclosed this Wednesday in response to statements by the president of the World Jewish Congress, Dr. Nahum Goldmann, on Israel Radio to the effect that such an agreement was negotiated between him and former Chancellor Willy Brandt in Bonn a year ago.
