The widow of former Nobel Prize winner Andrei Sakharov is protesting after a prize named after her husband was jointly awarded to Israeli university professor Nurit Peled-Elhanan and Palestinian writer Izzat Ghazzawi. After the violence on both sides in the Mideast, “awarding the Sakharov Prize to any Israeli or Palestinian is unacceptable,” Yelena Bonner said.
