The woman who cleaned the house where Anne Frank’s family hid during World War II turned the family in to the Nazis, according to a new book. But scholars reacted cautiously, saying that more research is needed to determine whether it was the maid who betrayed the family of the Dutch Jewish teen-ager, whose diary is known all over the world.
