The Women’s Campaign for Soviet Jewry has urged that the 1980 Olympic Games be taken away from Moscow. "While Orlov, Ginsburg, Shcharansky and the Slepaks remain in persecution, all lovers of freedom should insist that the Olympic Games take place outside the USSR," the group said. The Women’s Campaign also drew a parallel to the 1936 Olympics which were held in Nazi Germany. "The world should not allow the events of 1936 to be repeated in 1980," it said.
