The World Jewish Congress is urging German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder to break the impasse in talks regarding a German compensation fund for Nazi-era slave laborers. The call came as ongoing negotiations to set up the fund were deadlocked over its amount. The next round of talks regarding the fund will resume Oct. 6 in Washington.
