The World Monuments Fund announced $140,000 in grants to help preserve threatened synagogues in England and in seven countries in Eastern and Central Europe. The recipients include the biggest Sephardic synagogue in the Balkans, a Baroque synagogue in Hungary and a ruined synagogue complex in Lithuania.
