No confirmation of the report circulated by Reuter that a revolution has broken out in Transjordania against Emir Abdullah, has been received by the Colonial Office, the J.T.A. was informed upon inquiring there. The Colonial Office believes that absence of such confirmation negates the report.

That something has been brewing in Transjordania for some time is ascertained from the information that the rebel Od Effendi and his consorts were arrested and deported to Jedda, following the discovery of a revolutionary plot against Abdullah.

It is learned also that General Tudor, Commander of the British Militia in Palestine, recently convoked at Jericho, near the Dead Sea, all Sheiks in the vicinity, including also those of the territory east of the Jordan and ordered them to behave. Unless they behaved peacefully in time of peace, the Palestine Government would not hesitate to apply methods of war, the General warned the Sheiks.
