Thousands of Jewish students from dozens of countries took part in the “March of the Living” in Poland. Participants included Poles, Americans, Canadians, Israelis and others who walked about two miles to Auschwitz and Birkenau. The march, which has taken place annually since 1988, seeks to educate a new generation of Jews about the Jewish history of Europe and to affirm the survival of the Jewish people.
