Thousands protested Thursday on Mt. Scopus against the continuing construction of the local branch of the Mormon University of Brigham Young. The demonstrators charged that the center would not serve as an academic institution, as the Mormon Church argues, but rather as a center for missionary activity. Construction work continues at the site, overlooking the Old City of Jerusalem.
