A project called “Aliya Expo” which aims to find potential olim among Jewish tourists visiting Israel was held here last week. Several dozen Israelis, themselves former immigrants, met with a few hundred tourists to discuss aliya and to provide graphic and oral information about its various aspects.
The project was organized-by Tour VeAliya, a branch of the World Zionist Organization. Kalman Grossman, its director, said that thousands of names and addresses were registered during the two-day “Aliya Expo.” He said the names would be sent to aliya emissaries abroad who are supposed to follow up by making further contacts with potential immigrants.
