Three Arab infiltrators were killed and one wounded in two clashes over the weekend, the Israeli Army spokesman reported here today.
One Egyptian agent was slain and another wounded in a clash with an Israeli border patrol near the Gaza Strip. Both were Israeli Arabs who had crossed into Egypt and were intercepted on their way back to Israel on a mission from Egyptian intelligence.
The other clash took place Friday, north of Ein Akav, in the eastern Negev, near Jordan, where two infiltrators were killed in a fight with an Israeli patrol. A Jordanian military spokesman had claimed in Amman previously that an Israeli was wounded and captured in a border incident. The spokesman said the Israeli crossed the border and was fired on. The border clash was the first on the Jordanian frontier in several months.
