Three former SS officers who were aides of Gestapo chief Heinrich Himmler, went on trial yesterday in Frankfurt on charges of having murdered 115 concentration camp Inmates. The accused, Dr. Bruno Beger, 59, Dr. Hans Fleischhacker, 58 and Dr. Wolf-Dieter Wolff, 57 all worked at the notorious Auschwitz death camp. One of their associates was Wolfran Fiver who was sentenced to death at a previous war crimes trial and has since been executed. The court heard lurid stories of how the trio collected the skulls of their victims for alleged scientific study.
