Thrift House will celebrate its first anniversary tonight at a Birthday Bundle Party at its home, 9 West Fifty-seventh street, in a manner benefitting its slogan “Don’t throw away–throw our way.” Mrs. Julius Ochs Adler, chairman of the organization, announced that admission will be gained by a gift of old clothes or other merchandise to the shop, the proceeds of which go to the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies.
Commissioner Paul Moss of the Bureau of Licenses will award the prizes for a Surprise Treasure Hunt which will open the evening’s program. Entertainment by celebrities of the stage, screen and radio will follow. Among the artists to appear are Dorothy Fields, Johnny Green, Fred Keating, Clarence Nordstrom, and Edward Heyman.
Mrs. Richard Rafalsky is cochairman of Thrift House. Mrs. A. Brandt heads the Party Committee, assisted by Mrs. Edward Prince Goldman, Mrs. Nat H. Aronsohn, Mrs. Cornelius K. Aronsohn, Mrs. Beulah Kuh, Miss Madeleine H. Loeb and John Phillips.
