The world famous Lubawitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Joseph Schneursohn, received a rousing welcome from a great throng of Jews on his arrival here. The Rebbe, who just returned from a several month’s visit to the United States, will make Riga his permanent home. A great many of his Chassidic followers from all parts of Latvia together with M. Dubin, the Jewish member of parliament, were at the station to greet the Lubawitscher Rebbe. Because of the great throng that sought a glimpse of the distinguished Rebbe and who endeavored to touch his hand or kiss the hem of his coat, the police had great difficulty in maintaining order and getting the Rebbe into his automobile and away from the railroad station.
