The hot springs of Tiberias, Israel’s spa, were found to be radioactive by David B. Rosenblatt, American nuclear physicist, it was announced here today. Mr. Rosenblatt established that the hot springs contain a relatively high concentration of the radioactive gas radon, the announcement said.
The announcement was made by Col. J.R. Elyachar, president of the American Technion Society. The research conducted by Mr. Rosenblatt was carried on, as a Technion project, during the last two years through a grant provided by the Fohs Foundation of Houston, headed by F. Julius Fohs, geologist and expert.
