Tim Russert received an honorary doctorate from Yeshiva University. Y.U. President Richard Joel presented Russert, the award-winning host of NBC’s Sunday morning talk show “Meet the Press,” with an honorary doctor of humane letters degree at the university’s commencement exercises Thursday in New York City. Russert delivered an address to the university’s 2,000 graduates. Joel also conferred honorary degrees on philanthropist Michael Steinhardt, Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry founder Jacob Birnbaum, and philanthropist and Nina Footwear founder Stanley Silverstein.
