Thursday, March 12. was proclaimed “ORT Day” in New York City by Mayor Vincent Impellitteri at a ceremony in his office today. Earlier in the week, the Mayor renamed Times Square “ORT Square” for a week.
ORT Day is marked annually throughout the United States. It is participated in by more than 160 chapters of the Women’s American ORT, whose membership of 30,000, plus the more than 100,000 members of numerous affillates of the American ORT Federation, celebrate the accomplishments of ORT.
