To cope with the serious inroads which the economic crisis here has made upon Yugoslavian Jewry a central office for Jewish aid has been opened in Zagreb. The principal purpose of the central office is to unity and systematize the social work of all Jewish institutions in the country.
Through the office cheap credit will be made available and cooperatives and labor exchanges will be established. The first thing the central office will do, however, will be to compile statistics for a survey of occupational distribution of Jews. These statistics will later serve as the basis for a rational distribution of young Jews in industry, artisanship and agriculture.
