The formation of a Jewish national party in Roumania, to include the Old Kingdom as well as the new Roumanian provinces, was decided upon at a conference of Transylvania Zionists in Roumania held in Oradeomare.
Deputy Meyer Ebner participated in the conference as the representative of Bukowina Zionists.
A considerable number of Roumanian Jews, particularly those affiliated with the Union of Roumanian Jews, in the Old Kingdom are opposed to the formation of a Jewish national party in Roumania.
Two synagogues in Hartford, Conn., that have not been large enough to maintain a permanent rabbi will unite, according to articles of association filed at the office of the secretary of state. The synagogues are the Chevre Kadishe and the Teferes Israel. They will use the building of the latter congregation for their services.
A site for a new synagogue in Reading, Pa.. was purchased by the B’nai Zion Congregation. The purchase price was $60,000.
