One of the main streets in Athens will be renamed the Nordau Street in honor of the late Dr. Max Nordau, according to a decision of the Athens City Council. The Lord Mayor of Athens has presented a parchment document recording the decision to Dr. Max Nordau’s daughter, Maxa, who is now visiting Athens. The Lord Mayor, in making the presentation, said that in the most difficult hour of the Greek people, when the philo-Hellenes of Western Europe had kept silent, Dr. Nordau had proclaimed to the world the power of vitality of the Greek people and had foretold their renaisance. It was fitting that the capital of Greece should honor his memory.
