An Ohio Zionist state organization, with headquarters in Cleveland, will be organized in accordance with the decision adopted by the Ohio delegation to the Zionist Convention, it was announced.
A temporary Committee to represent the State in Zionist affairs has been named while the formal organization of the State unit will not take place until the fall when a conference for this purpose is to be held on September 17th and 18th.
The temporary committee consists of Ezra Shapiro, Chairman; Rabbi James G. Heller and Dr. Golub of Cincinnati; Ben Duberstein, Dayton; Dr. B. Abramson and Robert Mellman, Columbus; Oscar Altshuler and David Fish, Youngstown; Dr. F. Steiner, Akron; Rabbi J. Lichtenstein, Toledo; Isaac Carmel, George J. Klein, Sigmund Braverman, Max Kohrman, Samuel Katz and Alfred Sachs of Cleveland.
The September convention will seek to organize Zionist groups in all Jewish communities throughout the state; organize Zionist youth groups; establish a Palestine Information Bureau in Cleveland; organize and further tours to Palestine; promote collections for the Palestine Foundation Fund and the Jewish National Fund.
