A trial on the charge of “Chauvinism,” constituting a counterpart of the trials for anti-Semitism will be held in Bobruisk, White Russia, shortly.
Sara Foyker, factory hand, during a quarrel with her Russian fellow workers, hurled at them the epithet “Tartarskaya morda,” an insulting term referring to them as Tartars.
The Communist group in the factory decided at a general meeting that the Jewish girl’s remark indicated Chauvinism and decided to dismiss her from the factory. The case was referred to the state attorney. It is stated that the trial of Miss Foyker will be considered as an example for others. Some time ago another Jewish girl, a worker in a Minsk shoe factory, was expelled from the factory and the union and will also be brought to political trial for calling her non-Jewish fellow workers “Cham” (ignorant one).
