Tony Blair defended Israel’s right to a nuclear arsenal. The British prime minister was asked in Parliament on Wednesday whether Britain should press for all of the Middle East to be free of weapons of mass destruction. “What is important is that we recognize that in order to achieve that, Israel is going to have to be sure that it is surrounded by countries that do not wish it ill,” Blair answered. Israel has neither confirmed nor denied its assumed nuclear arsenal.
