Prime Minister Tancredo Neves and Foreign Minister Santiago Danta made statements here today highly laudatory of Israel’s achievements, and proclaimed Brazil’s determination to tighten still further the ties between the Brazilian Government and people of Israel.
Mr. Danta made his statement prior to departure for Israel where, he said, he will attempt to work out “the practical details” for the implementation of the recently concluded Israeli-Brazilian pact under which Israel will aid Brazil in development projects in Northeast Brazil. The Prime Minister spoke at a rally celebrating the 14th anniversary of Israel’s independence, conducted by the Israel Bona Organization. “The brotherhood between Brazil and Israel,” said Senor Neves, “expresses itself through the very close ties between these two democratic countries. Israel is a stimulating factor for the progress of Brazil.”
