Toronto U.J.A. Campaign for 1965 Closes; to Reacha $2,750,000 Total

The 1965 campaign of Toronto’s United Jewish Appeal, the central fund-raising organ, was closed here with the total reaching $2,750,000, an increase of $200,000 over last year, it was announced here today by Samuel Zeldin, chairman of the campaign. A total of $2,450,000 has been pledged to date with an additional $300,000 expected to be raised from cards still outstanding.

In his report on the campaign, Mr. Celdin said that substantial increases were effected this year in the number of workers taking part in the campaign, in the hundreds of new contributors as well as in the amount raised. He said he was sure that the upward trend would continue “next year and in the years to come.” Morris B. Kaufman has been named chairman of the 1966 campaign.
