The German authorities in occupied France have prohibited Jews from engaging in business and have ordered sale of Jewish firms to “Aryans,” it was reported here.

The decree, issued by the military governor in Paris, provided that Jewish enterprises be taken over by German commissars who would sell them to “Aryans.” Only businesses regarded as essential by the authorities were exempted from the order. Many Jewish enterprises have already been expropriated.
