Trade unions here have raised $100,000 for the Histadrut emergency fund in support of the Israel labor movement during the continuing Middle East emergency. The announcement was made at a “Labor Salute to Israel” rally attended by 5,000 unionists, including 3,000 Puerto Ricans, at the Manhattan Center. Moe Falikman, chairman of the American Trade Union Council for Histadrut, Israel’s federation of labor, announced that the Council had allocated $5,000 for two scholarships in Sen. Robert F. Kennedy’s memory. They will benefit Israeli youngsters annually.
