Moses W. Dykaar, noted Jewish sculptor, who executed busts of Calvin Coolidge, Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, and other well-known figures, took his own life by leaping in front of an elevated express train in the Bronx.
He was under a physician’s care, and his action was attributed to a nervous ailment from which he was suffering, and which had been aggravated by worry over economic conditions.
Dykaar, who had been allotted space in the New National Museum by the Government, modelled busts of the late President Harding, Vice-President Curtis, General Pershing, and Chief Justice Hughes.
He is survived by his widow and two children, Raymond, 9, and David, 4.
