King Abdullah of Transjordan is ready to recognize Israel, return the Old City of Jerusalem to the Jews and open the roads to Mount Scopus and to Latrun, it was reported here today.
In return, Abdullah has asked that Israel grant him an outlet on the Mediterranean Sea, either Haifa or Jaffa, and guarantee that it will not declare war if Transjordan annexes the Arab parts of Palestine. These proposals were made at a recent High-level meeting by Transjordanians and referred to the Israel Government, the report said.
