The Bedouin tribes in Transjordania were given arms by Emir Abdullah’s government to prepare for the emergency of a Wahabi attack. Particular measures were taken in the vicinity of Amman, Transjordania’s capital.
Notwithstanding reassuring official statements issued by the authorities, the Bedouin tribes remain alarmed at the possibility of Wahabi warfare. Aeroplanes are constantly reconnoitering the territory.
A force of 10,000 Wahabis under the leadership of Sheik Ibn Hamid, heading the tribe Atibah, was checked from making a raid on Iraq. It was stated that the forces were halted by messengers from Ibn Saud, Wahabi leader.
