If Arbitration Attempts Fail, Trial Will Open Nov. 28 (Jewish Dally Bulletin)
The opening of the trial in the suit brought by an Orthodox committee of the Congregation Ansche Emeth Beth Tephilah, which built the Cleveland Jewish Center, against Rabbi Solomon Goldman, rabbi of the Center, and the Board of Directors, for deviating from the constitution of the congregation providing that it must adhere to the Orthodox ritual as long as ten members insist on it, was postponed today.
The case was scheduled to be heard today in the Court of Common Pleas. The trial will take place, it was stated, on November 28.
Several days before the scheduled date of the opening of the trial, attempts were made by a neutral New York Committee to settle the matter out of court. The first attempt led to no result. Before the opening of the trial, however, the committee succeeded in persuading both parties to re-open the question of arbitration.
