Beard John Dupree of 22 East Thirty-eighth street, a tax attorney, and Martin Ira Phillips of 844 East Forty-eighth street, a public accountant, accused of conspiring illegally to obtain $500 from the father of a Jewish pre-medical student, will be tried on August 22 in the First District Magistrate’s Court. The men are now free on bail of $500 each.

They were arrested Friday in Assistant District Attorney Maurice G. Wahl’s office on the complaint of Louis Vogel of 1222 Avenue R, Brooklyn, father of one of the students, who charges he gave Phillips a check for $500 on the latter’s promise that he would gain access to a good medical school for Vogel’s son.

Meanwhile Wahl declared yesterday that he will conduct further investigations this week into the activities of men who represent themselves as educators and professors and who prey on the parents of Jewish students.
