Trial of 17 Christian Front members and supporters accused of conspiracy to overthrow the Government opened today before Judge Marcus B. Campbell in Brooklyn Federal Court, with one jury member being tentatively chosen in the first day of the proceedings.
Selection of the jury is expected to be completed tomorrow. United States Attorney Harold M. Kennedy said he would seek a completely Protestant jury because Catholics and Jews might be prejudiced. The public was barred from the courtroom.
