The trial of Captain Panisoara and three gendarmes for the torture of Samson Bronstein, Zionist leader of Yedinez, Bessarabia, last May, has now been set for February 14, 1933.
The reasons given for the third postponement of the trial, scheduled for December 20th, are the illness of Captain Panisoara and the absence of important witnesses.
The trial will be held in Bronstein’s home town, Yedinez, the scene of the torture which confined him to a hospital for months and threatened to cripple him for life.
This is the fourth time a date has been set for the trial of his torturers. The case was scheduled to be heard in Czernowitz last summer; was later set for October 18th; deferred to December 20th, and now again postponed until February 14th.
