A group of 126 Tripolitanian Jews sailed for Israel yesterday aboard the SS Artzah. Twenty-five members of the group, including eight children, are TB patients and will be admitted to JDC-maintained Malben hospitals immediately upon their arrival at Haifa.
The immigrants left Tripoli ostensibly for Italy on February 26th, since Libya does not permit direct emigration to Israel. Some 2,500 Jews are believed to be living in Libya today, principally in the capital. Tripoli.
