While waiting for results of the plebiscite, yet to be announced, a crowd of 40,000 Nazis gathered in front of the city hall here today and made an attempt to wreck the biggest Jewish cafe in the vicinity.

“Down with the Jews!” the crowd shouted. International police were on guard to prevent possible outbreaks.

Expecting a flood of refugees from the Saar, the French government today issued strict instructions to frontier officials not to permit any Saarlanders, Jews or non-Jews, to go to Alsace Lorraine or Paris. Refugees will, however, be permitted to enter France if they agree to proceed to the western and southwestern sections of the country, and be kept there under check of local authorities.

Emphasizing that he is expressing the viewpoint of Reichsfuehrer
