Morris C. Troper, European director of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, has left for Budapest, Milan and Zagreb after spending several days in Geneva during which he consulted with Dr. Saly Meyer, president of the Swiss Union of Jewish Communities, regarding assistance for refugee emigration.
In Budapest, Troper will hold conferences with J.D.C. representatives from neighboring countries regarding aid to refugees and facilitation of emigration. In Milan, he will consult with the Jewish Refugee Aid Committee. He had previously held conferences with Red Cross officials regarding relief to Polish Jews. The J.D.C.’s activities in Warsaw and environs are assisting 50,000 persons daily.
