More than 13,000 persons jammed the Boston Garden tonight to hear former President Truman address a public rally which launched the 1955 Combined Jewish Appeal of Greater Boston campaign for $5,055,000.
This is the first public rally to launch a CJA drive since 1949, and was seen here as a demonstration of the unity of the Greater Boston community. Sharing the platform with President Truman was Dr. Abram L. Sachar, president of Brandeis University. (Neither President Truman nor Dr. Sachar had spoken by the time the Bulletin went to press)
