Messages from President Truman and Secretary of War Robert P. Patterson paying tributes to the Euclid Avenue Synagogue here on the occasion of its 100th anniversary were read to the 1,000 persons attending anniversary services yesterday.
President Truman hailed “the brave pioneers who builded so well that their works follow them even to this day,” and expressed the hope that “Euclid temple and the good works which emanate from it will grow and prosper through long years to come.” Mr. Patterson declared that the morale of America is a “definite reflection of the heroic faith taught in church and synagogue.”
