President Truman told his press conference this morning that he has not received any report of progress from London on the Palestine situation.
(A report from the British capital today said that considerable progress has been made by the Anglo-American conferences who are discussing implementation of the inquiry committee’s report. It said that Evan Wilson, chief of the Palestine section of the State Department’s Near Eastern division, who is one of the conferees, will fly to Washington this weekend to report to the President’s Cabinet committee on Palestine.)
San. Robert F. Wagner, who called on the President today, told reporters after he left the White House that Mr. Truman is doing everything in his power to facilitate the admission of 100,000 Jews to Palestine.
