Truman Tells Press Conference There Are No New Developments in His Palestine Policy

President Truman told a press conference today that there are no new developments in his Palestine policy. Facing one of the largest press conferences in many months, the President made the statement in response to a reporter’s question.

Congressman Emanuel Caller of New York told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency today, that he had learned from the State Department that U.S. consul general in Jerusalem John J. McDonald would not return to his post in Israel. The State Department said that McDonald’s successor had not yet been chosen.
