Former President Harry S. Truman will be a featured speaker at the 25th annual national conference of the United Jewish Appeal, to open here on Friday at the Americana Hotel.
Some 1,500 delegates from more than 3,000 communities throughout the country will be called upon to set the UJA’s fund-raising goal for 1963 and to vote upon a resolution to adopt a multi-million dollar Special Fund to supplement the regular campaign funds. The additional revenue is sought in view of new refugee and immigrant emergencies in France and Israel. The three-day conference also will mark the opening of the Appeal’s 25th Anniversary Year.
