Turkey will never again permit discrimination against its Jewish citizens, Prof. Fahrettin K. Gokay, Mayor of Istanbul, declared here today at a ceremony opening a new Jewish medical center.

Mayor Gokay declared that Turkey’s Jews now enjoy the full rights and privileges of citizenship, just as do all other portions of the population. He paid tribute to the Jews’ contributions to the country’s welfare and pointed out that although the Jews built and will maintain the medical center it will be open to all without distinction.
