The language of instruction in the Jewish schools of Turkey must be either Turkish or Hebrew, and not French as heretofore, according to a decision of the Turkish Ministry of Education.
After the closing of the French schools in Turkey, the Jewish schools were the only ones in which teaching was conducted in a European language.
