The Press Court of Honor, an organ of self-control of the Turkish press, today denounced the recent anti-Semitic campaign in the weekly magazine “Karikatur.” The court issued a statement condemning the magazine, and emphasizing that this campaign was against the Press Code of Ethics. which calls on the Turkish press to refrain from publishing news stories or articles hostile to any religious or ethnic group.
“Karikatur” launched recently a campaign against the Jews and other minorities, attacking them for being “bad citizens” and asking them to leave Turkey. The court’s statement will be carried by the entire Turkish press.
