More than 1,500 rabbis, teachers and leaders of Jewish institutions gathered here at a banquet marking the twentieth anniversary of the founding of the Hebrew Theological College. Large delegations came from Michigan, Wisconsin, Indians, Colorado and other states to attend the ceremonies.
Rabbi Saul Silver, president of the college, pointed out that a total of 460 students had been prepared for rabbinical and teaching careers in the twenty years that the institution has been functioning. Included among these were students from such far-flung points as Palestine and South Africa. A 300-page anniversary journal, in which were published contributions from thirty prominent scholars and rabbis, was issued by the college in connection with the anniversary celebration.
