A concerted effort to bring the “Jewish unschooled” children to the Talmud Torahs and other Jewish schools of their respective neighborhoods was made last Sunday, December 14th, in the section of Brownsville and East New York.

Fifteen thousand children, and more than five thousand parents participated in the demonstration.

At each of the children’s rallies, a fine program of entertainment was prepared, consisting of moving pictures on biblical themes, choir singing and simple speeches, urging them to come and register in the Jewish religious schools of their neighborhoods. The theatres were secured through the courtesy of Mr. Samuel Lesselbaum, the director of the Premier Circuit.

Addresses were made by Mr. David Yellin, Vice-Mayor of Jerusalem, Rabbi David de Sola Pool, Dr. Benjamin Veit, District Superintendent of Public Schools, Mr. Isaac Allen, Rev. Blum, Dr. Mordecai Soltes and Dr. Giles J. Swan, Principal of Public School 144.
