A gift of $250,000 has been given by the Annenberg family of Philadelphia for research into the possibilities of agricultural use of desalinated soil and water in the Negev, it was disclosed here today.
Another $100,000 has been donated by Gustav Frank, the American philanthropist, for a similar purpose. The funds will be used to set up special soil research laboratories and experimental plantations.
