Two-day Reconstructionist Conference in Chicago to Discuss Jewish Community Issues

A two-day Midwest conference on Reconstructionism at which Dr. Mordecai Kaplan, founder of the movement, will be honored at a testimonial dinner, will be held here September 8 and 9, it was announced today.

The questions to be discussed at the conference, whose theme will be “Toward a United Community,” include: specific areas for active collaboration among Jewish religious bodies; methods of achieving a more rationally organized as well as more representative Jewish community; and, whether the movement is ready to establish an official Midwest Reconstructionist Foundation.
